The Springburn Winter Gardens are a symbol of Springburn’s former glory. When the glasshouse was destroyed in the 1980s, no funds were available to conduct restoration works. Now, years later, the time has come for the Winter Gardens to be brought back and transformed into something new.
As a founder member and secretary of the Springburn Winter Gardens Trust, it gives me great pride to see an application for the Heritage Lottery Fund being submitted, I have written this letter in support of the application and hope that it will be successful.
This part of Glasgow deserves the opportunity for investment; the people of Springburn deserve roses as well as bread.
